Abstract
Bu araştırma, “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli” kapsamında hazırlanan okul öncesi eğitim etkinlik kitaplarını çevre eğitimi açısından değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, 3-5 yaş grubu için geliştirilen etkinlik kitapları, doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Bu yaş gruplarına yönelik etkinlik kitaplarında yer alan etkinlikler her yaş grubu için ayrı olmak üzere temalara ayrılmıştır. Sonuçlar, Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modelinde çevre eğitiminin okul öncesi dönemde temel çevre bilinci oluşturma, geri dönüşüm farkındalığı kazandırma ve doğal yaşamı tanıtma gibi hedefler doğrultusunda ele alındığını göstermektedir. Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modelinin, okul öncesi eğitimde çocukların çevre eğitimi konusunda çok yönlü gelişimlerini destekleyen bir model olduğu görülmüştür. Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli çerçevesinde okul öncesi çevre eğitimi, çocuklara çevre bilinci kazandırmada etkili bir temel oluşturmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, iklim değişikliği, hava ve su kirliliği gibi konuların da işlenmesi ve çocukların doğayla doğrudan deneyim kazanacağı saha gezileri, tarım ve ekoloji etkinliklerinin artırılması önerilmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, okul öncesi dönemde çevre eğitiminin etkili şekilde sunulmasının, çevresel farkındalık kazandırmada kritik bir rol oynayabileceğini ortaya koymaktadır.
Abstract
This study aims to evaluate preschool education activity books prepared within the scope of the “Turkiye Century Education Model” in terms of environmental education. In the study, activity books developed for the 3-5 age group were examined using the document review method. The activities included in the activity books for these age groups are divided into themes separately for each age group. The results show that environmental education in the Turkiye Century Education Model is approached in line with objectives such as establishing basic environmental awareness, raising awareness of recycling, and introducing natural life in the preschool period. It has been observed that the Turkey Century Education Model is a model that supports the multidimensional development of children in environmental education in preschool education. Within the framework of the Turkiye Century Education Model, preschool environmental education provides an effective foundation for instilling environmental awareness in children. However, it is recommended that topics such as climate change, air and water pollution be addressed and that field trips, agriculture, and ecology activities that allow children to gain direct experience with nature be increased. The findings reveal that effectively delivering environmental education in the preschool period can play a critical role in fostering environmental awareness.
